While suturing a laceration on the hand of a 90-year-old Texan (he got his hand caught in a gate while working his cattle), a doctor and an old man were talking about "W" being in the White House. The old man said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a post turtle." Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked him what a post turtle is. The old man said, "When you're driving down a country road, and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle. You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he can't get anything done while he's up there, and you just want to help the poor, dumb thing get down."

Thought this was cute joke.

You would think by now the democrats would stop underestiming Bush. As long as they keep thinking he is dumb, he will win every thing in Congress. He has done more in the first 6 months than Clinton did in his 8 years (legal acts anyway).

That's a pretty gross over statement. In my book he's done one thing, passed a questionable tax cut.

Time will tell. It's too early.

Questionable tax cut? The only thing questionable I see are the Democrats spending the surplus as quickly as they can.

You are right, its too early and time will tell.

At the state level he was bipartisan, and was good at getting people to work together. I think he is finding out that Washington is a different game. I agree time will tell.

Ah, but you forget: A Democrat in Texas would be called a Republican almost anywhere else.

You can quote me on that one /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Well your probably right, although I can think of one exception. Henry Cisneros.
What I really meant was at the state level politicians are almost forced into getting things done. In Washington gridlock is "situation normal"

...and I prefer it that way. They start passing laws and stuff and all we get is trouble.
