Hi, I'm new to this web site and looking for help...
Maybe this answer was posted allready or someone can point me in the right direction..
I have a 2000 JD4300, :) the position control on the 3pt hitch is not working correctly. If lifts and lowers fine but when I lift to full height it drops a little and
when I move the 3pt lever to half way it falls all the way to the bottom and the
implement will drop.. the lever does NOT stay where I put it..Any help out there?:( ??? Thanks

I am guessing, You do not have your load and depth control in the correct position. Ken Sweet

Hi stgarvy. Please clarify. You say the position control is not working, but also seem to say that the control lever is loose and "does NOT stay where I put it." Does the 3 pt not react properly to the position of the lever, or is the lever friction adjustment just loose?

Ok, let me try to explain what is happening...
when I pull back on the 3pt lever the 3pt will lift the implement..
When I bring the lever all the way back (raise) the implement will raise all the way to the max height, THEN when I let off the lever it will drop about 3 inches.....Then, when I lower the implement alittle bit it will stop and hold
position..lower alittle more, still holds position..little more still working...
THEN I get just a tiny bit below half way down, at the point with the little
bump, the implement will drop and also the lever will fall to the down position.
Anything below half way up will NOT hold..the implement and lever will fall back to the down position...

Try tightening nut #5 in the diagram. It tightens the friction discs that hold the lever in position.

Welcome to TBN:D

You need to tighten the rockshaft lever linkage. Parts #10 are "spring washer" that provide tension to hold the lever in the set position. You need to tighten the nut, #5 to add more tension.
