Pouring oil from a 5 gallon bucket

Pouring oil from q bucket is annoying with that little pull out thing in the lid, yeah you can turn the bucket sideways and use a funnel. I have been using those flex spouts that come with the 10L jugs of DEF using a new clean new one they cross thread on to the bucket pretty good and make it just like pouring a gas can. Anyone have a better other than bucket pump and a hose?

When I pour from one I use a large funnel and hold the bucket so the spout is at the top. Pour at a volume that allows air to enter as the oil comes out.

BUT last time I changed hydraulic oil in my backhoe I used my diesel transfer pump to pump it out and in.

thanks, but does nobody make a thread on spout like def jugs, they thread on pretty well i was just hoping somebody knew of a flexible spout made for a bucket since the little pull out thingy on the buckets is threaded.

I think I got a thread on spout for a five gallon bucket at my case IH dealer. Turned out to be no so handy. I just pour from the top if that makes sense.

I think any kind of thread on funnel would block the air into the bucket. I guess you drill a hole in the bucket but then you risk contamination and I re use the buckets for waste oil.

My M6040 takes 16+ gallons of hydraulic fluid. I have a big flex nozzle funnel and turn the 5-gallon bucket on its side. By the time I get to the third 5-gallon bucket of new hydraulic fluid - it has become a real PITA.

This year I'm going to get one of those cordless drill oil transfer pumps.
