How much rain have you had in your neck of the woods? We have had lots this year. I can hear the grass growing up behind me as I mow.

The good thing about all this rain is it makes the grass grow. The bad thing about all this rain is it makes the grass grow. :confused2:

What he said! We were in pretty bad dry conditions to start the year. Finally getting some. Had about 3/4 of an inch so far today. Need to be in the field getting ready to pick corn...but it can wait. Nothing like the sound of rain on an old barn roof!

I agree with this too. We have had over 30" so far this year. I would like a little more moderation so I can get some stumps dug up. Not great digging weather. Of course if it was dry I would be complaining about the dust and heat. Thank goodness my backhoe has a cab and AC.

Here in Ohio we had 3 inches one day last week and another 2 inches two days before that, roads were shut down, flooding all over the place, we got dumped on, lots of garages and basements flooded, luckily my property handled the water just fine, and had a dry basement the entire time.

All of the lakes in the great lakes basin seems to have had a wet summer so far. We've ran about double of normal precipitation here on the southern shore of BIG lake Lake S. All of the lakes are now high and the St. Lawrence is running so high they are threatening to shut down shipping because of high current and danger to navigation. I see in shipping news that the 700-foot-long Barker flattened a small boat that was tied up on the edge of the Fox River in Green Bay. This happen because of Fox rivers high current. Good news is shipping is up and the boats are now taking on full cargoes.... Oh well.

We are having a very dry and hot summer in our province of British Columbia. In the interior (Cariboo area) we are having a number of major forest fires. The largest is about 100,000 acres. About 37,000 people have been evacuated to other areas. It's going to get worse before it get better. There have also been other fires around BC including on Vancouver Island. We live on Vancouver Island and have had one forest fire about 70 or so miles south of us and another about 40 or so miles north of us. We WISH we were getting some rain.

Everything in North GA. lush and green. Been gripping about so much rain until I think of just last year when couldn't get much out of the ground due to dry. Crops are good around here hope everyone can get them out of the field when needed.

In NE GA we had 3" last night, highest I've seen the creek in front of me and enough to wash a footbridge 100 yards away. Found it, strapped it to the tractor and hauled it back to where it belongs. Then another 1.25 just hit so I went back and dragged it to higher ground:laughing: Rain has stopped but the creek is still rising. Thinking I might chain the bridge to a tree but probably raising it another foot would be smarter.
