Let start by saying I am a novice to hydraulics. I have built a log splitter from scratch and I have a basic understanding of the hydraulics on my BX24 but as I said I am not an expert. So here is my problem.

I have recently purchased a 3pt hitch hydraulic powered sander/spreader for my Kubota BX24 tractor. The problem is when I connect the hoses, as I would think logical, there is no hydraulics to the transmission. I can get around this by not connecting the "EX" port on the flow valve which diverts the oil when the valve is closed to dump directly into the reservoir. If I run the hydraulics through the flow valve, to the motor and back to the power beyond on the tractor I can get the sander to work and the tractor to move. This way the sander will work except I cannot shut off the sander, but the tractor will move. I have gotten around this two ways; I can disconnect the quick connects until I get to where I want to sand my drive and then reconnect the sander or I can reduce the speed on the flow valve to the motor so I can get to where I want to sand with minimum sand loss and then adjust the speed as needed.

I would like to pipe this up correctly so I can shut off the sander on the flow valve, drive to where I want to sand, reach back and adjust the speed to an appropriate setting, sand, shut off the sander and drive back. I think I can conceptualize what is wrong but I am not sure how to fix it.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

George
