Just got my 48 backhoe installed and I have a really stupid question. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Can the power beyond outlets be used for anything other that providing power to the hoe? Since there's no scv there and since removing the bypass hose and plugging the hoe into the outlets leaves the 3 point useless, I can't visualize them being able to be used for anything but the hoe.

You can add anything you want to it as long as it has a open center valve in the added circuit. The circuit can also be set up so that the three point will work with it.

No, a really stupid question would be, what is this thing that looks like a phone cable, but is all glass fibers that I just dug up?

Jerry, do you think that this would include a top-n-tilt hydraulic top link cylinder?

I have the same question about my JD1050. I would be real interested to know what you do with your power beyond outlets .

How about a post hole digger, with power down hydraulics, or a log splitter.

From your bio, I see you have a backhoe, which means your tractor already has "power beyond" installed. If you ever get a brush-hog or boxblade, you will never regret a "power beyond" powered Toplink. That one feature alone will make installing the valve to control it worth every penny/hour it takes to get it up and running.

George,
When you have a chance, could you post a couple of pictures of the valve itself and how / where you have it mounted? Is this something you rigged up yourself, or did you have a dealer install it?

Thanks for you help.

Hoss,
This was a do-it-yourself project. The valve is a mail order Prince valve. The hydraulic outlet set-up was a JD kit, and the JD parts guys cut the hoses and crimped the fittings on for me.
Pictures and story are at this TBN link.
