power beyond

I've never worked with hydraulics before so bear with me, I'm new to this forum. I have '08 Mahindra 2415, that has a 'Green Grape Hoe" mounted on the R side- neat implement, index , made in upstate NY. It is controlled by joystick type valve hooked to the hydraulic block. On the valve there is an IN port to the P port, out to T , 4 connections to 2 double acting cylinders on the hoe, and then a 'power beyond' port that goes back to the block. As I understand it, this takes flow form the valve and runs it downstream to 3 point lift control. System works fine- what I'm looking at doing is adding another control valve & a double acting cylinder to raise/lower a front blade to plow snow with. I have a couple ideas , want to run past more experienced people see what you think.

my local Rural King store has a Cross SCA2 valve, that looks like it would do the job. SCA Series - Cross Mfg.. Should I ..

1) put 2 tee fittings, 1 in the line from the pump and 1 in line to block, run a pair of lines to the IN and OUT of the new valve? Kind of running to 2 control valve in parallel.

2) put a T in 'Power Beyond' line , run it to IN port of new valve, then another T into return line to attache to new valve OUT Line ? More like a series control.

3) if I run line from power beyond port to new valve IN port, won't I need a control valve with a power beyond port to send fluid downstream to the 3 point lifter ? Any suggestions where to get a control valve like that? I still would need to put a tee in the return line to tie in to the OUT port from the new valve?

4) am I totally off base ? Let me know what you guys think. I want to get some input before I buy anything

You can not tee pressure lines in an open center hyd system unless you know a lot more data.

All valves in an open center hyd system are in series with one valve feeding another until the fluid goes to tank.

You can use shutoff valves at a tee junction, to feed another circuit but not at the same time. but you do not see it often.

You can use splitters or dividers to divide the flow in equal flow or unequal flow, which essentially provide two paths.

You can tee OUT ports as they are low pressure and go to tank.

If you want another valve for your front blade, just add another valve in series.

Keep in mind that upstream valves could use all the pump flow leaving none for downstream valves.

The valve you propose is not a PB valve.

You're over-complicating it.

Come out of the existing valve's power beyond port to the new valve's IN port. Then come out of the new valve's power beyond port, and go to where the existing valve's power beyond port used to go to.

Thanks for the advice- appreciate it, Anyone have advice on where/what to get a new valve with power beyond port? I dont waste time & money ordering the wrong thing. Thanks!

Seems right to me, but let someone else confirm.

Your pump flow is 5.8 GPM, and the valve you propose is a 25 GPM valve.

Your lever will only move a little and it will flow the total pump flow.

Should match the valve flow with pump flow.

This valve would better suit your needs.
