Well, I picked up my Christmas present from a nice customer/friends.

Cool thing to Explore. Kohler Engine, can't find the HP, 250 amp three phase DC welder, CC & CV, 20 AMP three phase or single phase generator,American Eagle, 30 CFM single stage compressor.

No manuals, no schematic, no longer supported. Company got bought.

It has 0 hours on the meter! Designed to sit on the rails of a pickup bed.

Tried running it but ran into something really weird. Battery shows middle of 2018, and eleven volts, but will not take a charge. Not with two electronic chargers or an old transformer based charger. Like the battery isn't there. A new one for me. Guess they STIFFED me. lol

Drag it to most any auto parts store. They should have a Midtronics battery tester that doesn’t put a load on the battery and test it.

I would love to know what would cause a battery to do that. It's always been kept in a heated space. Obviously though, in a discharged state.

My guess is you poked the battery terminals to get the voltage and clamped to the leads to try and charge it. One or both the leads doesn’t have the proper connection to the battery.

It is now sitting on my bench. May revisit the matter. I was sure the first time I stuck a meter on it while connected, I only saw 5 volts. Then (I think) after trying a charger, it said 11 volts.

My guess on the battery is one dead cell. Check with a hydrometer.

I saw one sold for $2000 USED, if you got this for free, I wouldn't complain about a dead battery!..

They were made in new york I think. Not sure what the value of portable compressed air would be? Maybe to a tire guy, but he doesn't need a welder. Maybe for PLASMA cutting. I don't even know if a plasma runs on 20 amps. Compressor is on whether you want it or not, so that is quite a load.

Checked again, making good connection. 11.0 volts. Charger doesn't see anything connected.

Sealed Magnacharge battery. Even so, you are supposed to charge a battery before taking a hydrometer reading.

Must be that "Superior Charging Technology"

The compressor could be used for carbon arc gouging with the welder.
