I just bought a JD4410 with Power Reverse. I am new to these transmissions so I was wondering if the performance on mine is normal. I have the transmission in neutral and the forward/reverse lever in neutral as well. I depress the clutch , select the range (A, B, or C) , find a gear between 1-4. I then slowly left the clutch. The tractor is still not moving until I move the forward/reverse lever on the steering column. I'm now going forward but I want to slow down so I depress the clutch. The tractor stops. I then let out the clutch and the tractor goes. After doing this 3 times the tractor stops and no longer moves. Clutching in and out does nothing. In order to get it moving again I need to put the forward/reverse lever in neutral, depress and lift the clutch and I'm good for a few more cycles of operating the clutch to start and stop. Should this not be continual or is there a timer that activates once you use the clutch so many times you need to put the reverse/forward lever back in neutral, lift it and then the forward/reverse lever moves the tractor again. I hope you understand what I am trying to describe here. Is there something going on with the safety switch on the clutch. Thanks
