Power Reverser Deck Layout

After reading the TBN for awhile, I've decided that I'm leaning toward the Power Reverser over a Hydro transmission. Unfortunately its hard to find one at a dealer near here.

I'd like to know where the shifter is in relation to the seat?

Also, is there a separate throttle control for tractor speed, or is the tractor speed and PTO speed both controlled by the hand throttle? If there is a separate control, where is it?

On the 3520, it states the PTO horsepower is 30.5 for the PowerReverser and 30.0 for the Hydro. Anybody know what the Horsepower ratings at the wheels are?

I don't own one but I believe you will find that there are two shift levers to the left of the seat (gears 1-4 and range) and then there is a forward/reverse shuttle lever on the steering column to the left side. Should be a very nice transmission to use. Deere puts their owner's manuals online, go to their website and search for technical publications, then click on owner's manuals and the model you want. Very nice of them to do so. The entire manual is online.

There will be two throttles, one lever on the dash, the other a foot pedal. Both of them control the engine speed; there is no separate way to control PTO speed.

Tractors aren't usually rated by hp at wheels, but rather by drawbar hp - what you can pull in terms of force x speed. Works out to about the same thing. However, CUTs are not normally viewed as tillage machines so aren't usually tested for drawbar hp. You will find that the Nebraska tractor tests provide drawbar hp typically for utility tractors in the 60+ hp range and then everything larger.

I have a JD 4500 and its just like Z explained. It is a nice transmission and VERY easy to operate with a loader, its just like the big backhoes operate. The 4500 has 39 engine HP and 33 at the PTO HP, I haven't found much to stop it so far but I am pretty easy on it becuase #1, I just paid it off and #2, I want it to be around for my kids (which I don't have) to enjoy.

If I remember correctly the manuals are not directly linked from the info page for a model, but instead you have to search for them in the technical publications area. Click on "Services and support" then "manuals and publications" both at the top left.
