Sounds like a uninformed dealer. But hey if they want to give you the oil for free tell them to stick with that story. Note the section I placed in bold. In laymans terms this means a manufacturer can not force you to use their lubricant, filters, etc... unless they provide them to you free of charge for the duration of their warranty.

§ 2302. —  Rules governing contents of warranties. - US § 2302. —  Rules governing contents of warranties. - US Code :: Justia

US Code, Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2302c (this is often known as the MAGNUS - MOSS WARRANTY ACT)

(c) Prohibition on conditions for written or implied warranty; waiver by Commission No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer's using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade, or corporate name; except that the prohibition of this subsection may be waived by the Commission if -

(1) the warrantor satisfies the Commission that the warranted product will function properly only if the article or service so identified is used in connection with the warranted product, and

(2) the Commission finds that such a waiver is in the public interest. The Commission shall identify in the Federal Register, and permit public comment on, all applications for waiver of the prohibition of this subsection, and shall publish in the Federal Register its disposition of any such application, including the reasons therefor.

If your still under warranty, change to another fluid, something goes bad and the dealer says sorry, not our stuff, how big a battle is that going to be if the dealer won't back down. Lawyers, court or the some consumer agency take over??

Mr. Terry Davis from Troco/ Royal Mfg was kind enough to send me the info on their product today. Posted below from his wordpad e-mail.

Kubota UDT Super Hydraulic Fluid

Kubota UDT Super Hydraulic Fluid is specially formulated with unique components (PAO痴) and is designed as a 登ne fluid for use in all Kubota farm tractor hydraulic systems, transmissions, differentials and wet brake systems. Kubota UDT Super Hydraulic Fluid remains fluid down to -40ーF, yet because of its wide temperature range performance, it maintains required viscosity at higher temperatures and with its exceptional anti-wear protection can be used in heavily loaded farm tractor differentials. Kubota UDT Super Hydraulic Fluid is recommended for use in Kubota as well as many other manufacturers of farm and industrial tractors, including AGCO, Ford-New Holland, John Deere, Massey Ferguson, White Farm, Caterpillar and JI Case.

Benefits:

Multipurpose Provides excellent performance in hydraulic systems, transmissions, differentials and wet brake systems.
Wide Temperature Range Multi-viscosity compounding provides low temperature fluidity while maintaining high temperature protection.
Prevents wear Special compounding provides excellent protection from wear on moving parts.

wrong...They will pull a UOA to prove it was the fluid and not there design..The "using their fluid" is getting old.

What I posted was the product info for the oil from Royal mfg. that my dealer uses instead of the Kubota brand as it costs less.
