Does anyone have the Power Trac snow blade with the rubber lip on it.? If so several questions how does it work on a gravel driveway? Also do you have the wheel kit for it and finally how does it wear and how far does it stick down below the steel cutting edge? Thanks

I saw this a couple days ago and thought someone would answer you. I have the snow blade with the kevlar rubber edge which sticks down about 2 inches from the bottom edge of the blade. The edge where it bolts on is not the cutting edge of the blade. They have another piece of steel for the cutting edge that also bolts on to the blade. I also have the wheel kit for it and it works pretty good for my paved driveway. With the rubber lip it should work like any other snow blade. It will lift up the stones and pile them where you push your snow. With the wheel kit on and the lift being set to float you can set the snow blade higher than the surface your clearing with the draft control so you can keep from lifting stones from your driveway. It will clear most of the snow but you will still have some on the drive since you are not actually scraping it clean off the surface.

I currently have a 2 inch metal pipe on the bottom edge of my snow blade and it is almost shot, I can't remember how many years it has been on there and I need to replace it and I am thinking about using a piece of rubber belting to see how that would work. I do not have the wheel kit on my snow blade.

The rubber belt is really tough, there is very little flex in it. It would be like using a metal edge with it. If the pipe works good for you I would just stick with that. If it isn't broke no need to fix it or reinvent the wheel. I like having the wheel kit on my snow blade, it lets be adjust how much down pressure I want to put on the rubber edge. I just squeegee my drive right down to the surface and use very little salt at all. I have had the same rubber edge on my snow blade for 11 years now and it still doesn't need flipped over to the unused side. I still have a good amount of material left on that edge.

I'm not that impressed with the pipe and part of it is worn completely through.

Are you planning on using the rubber 'belt' from Power-trac or are you going to just use something else/fabricated? I will tell you the Kevlar rubber blade from Power-trac is a beast. I checked out what was offered at TSC, like rubber horse mats and so forth. They are not even close to what Power-trac offers for their rubber blade. The wheel kit with that blade should work pretty good for you. Are you using tire chains with your tractor? I have a 350 ft driveway with a good size hill and with the turf tires. I have never needed tire chains yet and I hope I never will but I do have them just in case.
I hope you locate what you are looking for before the snow flies. Good luck.

I just put on a piece of stall mat I got at TSC to see how it will do, don't know if I will be using my power trac to clear snow much, I just got a terra track Wildcat with 6 foot hydraulic raise and angle snow blade plus a cab. My sons driveway is about 900 foot long and very steep. I am hoping that tracks work good on it.
