For those of you that haven't seen these. I know before these videos I always was very interested in seeing the PT snow blower in action and I can't believe how long it took for me to notice these. Is it just me or does the PT blower, and most of their attachments seem to run slower than other snow blowers or at least on the 425.

Also in the third video it looks like they have fastened some sort of soft cab. Does anyone know anything about this?

Interesting... Was wondering about the price on one of these myself.. He may be driving the blower slow to help keep the chute from clogging up.

OT... but take a look at this video at time 1:22 (PT vs the competition on a slope).

Back on-topic: the blades on that snowblower look like they wouldn't let you drive much faster then he is driving. Even the PT1460 snowblower was going slow.

Barry, I think the Blower for a 425 is about $3200. I looked at them when I was down there, and have seen a lot of blowers that look as if they could go through things faster. Doesn't look like it is pushing the snow, or picking it up fast enough for the second stage in the blower. I would like to see it work on some deeper snow, 20"+ to see how it really works, but have never seen any videos.

On the soft cab, they said they stopped making them available, as people were going out and getting other companies, or people to copy them at a cheaper price. I told them I would have thought about buying one when I bought my machine, but that was the answer they gave me.

Well the price doesn't seem to bad..

After the 4- ft snow storm we just got, it has me thinking.. Even if I were to use it every 4 years for the really deep stuff. It would make life so much easier on my 150 ft driveway.

I have a Power Smart 24-inch 208-cc Gas Powered Two Stage Snow blower. Which does a great job as long as the snow doesn't go over 2 ft at night while I am sleeping..

But it is still work, great for a backup in case the PT goes down for any reason.. But of course having a tractor kind of defeats the idea of walking when I can ride. ;)

I may op for a blower to go on the front of the PT next year. I'd have to research and see if there is a better unit at a better price out there that could be rigged onto the my machine. Really have never looked into it..

So they did make the cabs and sold them. Do you know if they were made for the 425? Did they give you one of the places that was making it for cheaper? I think they could have sold a ton of those if the pit on their web site and in the price sheet. I guess it is typical for them

As far as the blower speed or the pro speed, I have always felt as though the 425 pro went a little slower than it should. Where I used to work we had a tractor aerator and I bought the same brand hydraulic version and it doesn't go quite as fast. It is visible and I can hear the difference too. I always thought these machines are tough as you could want with the hydraulics being the week link

I'm sure with a little ingenuity you could adapt something like this for your tractor.. Bercomac 700423-1 Berco 40" Universal Tractor Snow Cab

With my last PT I built my own cab and it worked great had everything inside.. Walkie talkie, a small shelf for my coffee, fire extinguisher. Snug as a bug in a rug no matter how hard it snowed or the wind blew..

Not a very good image here. I could take the Plexiglas windows out in the summer.

I have better ones but you get the idea .. I really don't feel like doing that all again.. But I do have a brand new golf cart, plastic cab I plan to adapt as soon as I'm done working on other things.

No, they didn't tell me any prices, or even when they stopped making them. Basically it sounded like people were taking them to companies that did covers for boats or other type places and having them make them. I would have thought about one also at the time.
