I had no easy to move engines around so I built this. It has proved quite useful as I swapped beds on my other truck. I just wrapped a chain around beam and hung an extra chain hoist on it, one for each end. It's also faster than a tractor but will not shovel dirt.

One of the best reasons for this type lift is I can back into shop reach over car pick up rearend trolly over and onto truck drive back to house and poke beam into garage trolly rearend over tractor and sit it in place.

that looks pretty neat - how much can it lift towards the end of the beam?
couldnt you use like an electric winch to have a powered hoist (it is a chain hoist a the moment right) save all that calorie burning chain pulling /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
