Well I ordered me a pre-fab metal building from Carolina Carports. I am having a local company install a 20 ft. wide garage door with automatic openers. Times are not like they used to be when everyone is trustworthy and there are times when I come in with my bass boat with a thousand dollars or more of rod and reels laid out on the deck. I wanted a place I could back into and just lock the whole thing up tight. I ordered a 24 x 40 metal building and I had a concrete floor poured for it to sit on. With the ground being unlevel, I had to lay block and back-fill for my concrete pad. I used header block and poured about every 3 ft. or so solid with re-bar. I also put re-bar and wire in my slab. Here is my progress so far.

Forgive me for so many pics, I wanted to show step by step. This is the final stage other than sawing the relief cracks. I will post the building pics as it is installed.

Century,

Post some info on your building or a website with it. I plan on putting one the same size on my property this summer.

Century,

No need to apologize for the great pictures. It's allot of fun to see the progress as it develops. Not to mention such a nice looking tractor. I have a Century myself, but just a little 2535. Not as nice as yours.

Thanks,
Eddie

Thanks fellas. The one I ordered is 24x41. Actual floor space 24x40 with 6" overhang on each end . You can't order directly from Carolina Carports but there are independent dealers everywhere around the carolinas and they get 10% of base price right off the bat. They also stand behind the thing to help you if there is a problem with anything. I was gonna order from Premier Metal Structures and their 24x28 was 4295.00 but I wound up going with the 24x40 because my bass boat is 25 ft. long from prop to tongue and I figured the 28 would be pushing it. Then again, nothing is ever big enough. The whole deal, with 10 ft. legs, closed in sides and gable ends, verticle roof with with boxed eaves and extra bracing, 12GA. 21/2 IN. Square tubing frame and 1 walk in door framed for a 20'x7' garage door cost me 8148.00. The garage door with 2 openers is another 1150.00 and the very expensive concrete ran me another 3 grand. So I wound up with over twice as much in it as anticipated and thats with me doing the block work and form for the concrete. Concrete around these parts are going for 100+ a yard and finishing is averaging about 50.00 a yard. I'm gonna have about 13 grand in the whole deal but I figured that was cheaper than a stick built garage of that same size. If you want a 24x28, PremierMetal Structures.com has a special on them for 4295.00 and then its just the matter of your concret pad. If you have a good level spot to pour a pad then it would save on blockwork and backfilling with dirt. I'll post some pics of the building when they bring it out. While the concrete truck was bringing it out I got another 5 yards and had me some sidewalks poured.
