As I was searching the web I came across this and thought I would share the information with you guys to see if anyone has used this or a similar product. While it can be ordered on-line, the company doesn't list any prices. This seems to work on the same principle of circulating hot water throughout your house.

"The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is on record in countless technical papers as having found that as high as 80% of any engine's life span is lost in the cumulative total of those few seconds the engine spends without lubrication on the initial start-up and on subsequent start-ups in normal use. After all, any good lubricant is used simply to extend the life of the motor and its reciprocating or revolving parts by reducing to its lowest level the metal destroying heat generated by friction created when any parts are rubbed together."

"The idea then would obviously be to lube all moving parts during assembly of a new motor with some lubricant that would never wear out and never need replenishing. No such miracle lube has yet surfaced. The second best idea is to never let any part of the motor move - on either initial start-up of a newly assembled engine or any subsequent start-up - until it has been lubricated with available lubricants. Simple enough, except that the modern internal combustion engine relies on movement of the crank-cam-oil pump drive-oil pump train to move the sump-held lubricant through all the passages necessary to reach all the moving parts."

When I used to race sports cars I used a pre lube setup in the car. It didn't have a pump but it functioned like a big hydralic cylinder. It had a line that T'd off the oil filter and you could pressurize it with air or you could shut the valve before you sut off the engine. The unit would hold the pressure for several weeks and all you had to do was open the valve before you started the engine.
If you left the valve open while on the track the unit supplied oil anytime you had a drop in oil pressure . It saved many an engine.

Carl,
I dont have any first hand experience with theses systems, but the idea is really good, especially for a turbo. I have seen them and heard about them for a while and would be curious about the price. Personally I would question the need vs the cost. The average truck diesel can last near a million miles without it, just proper maintenance. Goes back to your other thread about oils(wich I totally agree with). Surely wouldnt hurt, great idea though..

It might be worth it on an engine that was started only a few times per year but would be essentially worthless on something that is used every day or even every few days.
