prefered spare tire mount

I just built a spare tire mount on the front of my trailer on the right side. I'm now looking for (a deal on) a chain box to fit beside it in the V of the hitch .

Mine sets on the right front on my 16', on an upright on the tongue on the 10'. ~~ grnspot

In winter salt on road country, you will find that getting the tire off that has been hung under the trailer one of the worst jobs in your life...and if on the side of a road, you wont get the bolts loose.

I boosted my toolbox and store the spare under it

A guy on another website got the chain hoist spare tire mechanism off a wrecked small truck and put it under his trailer. There's no way I'd mount a trailer spare under a trailer without that kind of set up.

Mine just happens to be on the side of my trailer just because it came that way.

i put mine on the top side of the gooseneck rails over to the deck.. bolt, washer and nut to hold it on.. esy to get at when ya need it.. no crawling around under anything. and it's not dirty either.. and you can check air in it easilly when checking other tires air..
