I'm looking at a new XU5065PS. Is under $30k reasonable? That price is "out the door" prepped and tires loaded. I really like the PS feature and the downdraft exhaust for clearance. I'm not terribly fond of the chrome on the front end but I guess that's ok. It just seems out of place on a tractor. I may add a third remote later. I can't think of how I'll use it for my needs. Thanks for any feedback. IHR
Congrats on discovering LS and (IMHO) one of the best 60-ish HP tractor values out there. Six months and ~33 engine hours after purchase, and pleased with my XU5065CPS (plus LS loader and backhoe on R4s). Agree that the PS is worth the extra $ alone, and in some applications the add'l PTO HP may also justify the cost over a XU5055. Only wish winter work schedule had allowed me to use it more than I have... hoping to make up for that soon.
My OTD pricing isn't apples to apples with a cab and BH, but believe open station XU5065PS pricing would have been in the same ballpark as your quote assuming a loader is included. For reference the open station model probably would have fit in our detached garage (sans either BH or loader), but the cab is too tall to clear the door by about 6 inches. While I like the cab and standard stack exhaust for multiple reasons, you're right, clearance issue aren't negotiable. On the plus side, I can keep lawnmower and other junk in the garage, and successfully convinced the wife we need a pole barn for tractor and misc. other uses!
Regarding the chrome grill (which probably looks better on cab models) and exhaust, the exterior and interior finishings are at least holding up very well. Might suggest taking some precautions for any extended towing since I've heard -- true or not? -- that downdraft exhausts are more susceptible to ingesting wind and spinning the turbo without the intended lubrication. Maybe one of those jet engine-style covers with a streamer would work

Either way I found that the standard features, "just right" size and HP, not to mention enormous price delta between similar class competitors, makes the XU series a strong choice. Best wishes in making your decision.
