I have a 10 acre lot in a subdivision in Virginia and plan on building my own house and installing my own drain field and septic tank. I have a 450 foot gravel drive way on a hill. I'll only be mowing about 1/2 acre and probably won't use the tractor for that. While building the house, I'll use the tractor for grading the land, backfilling, possibly digging frostline footers, digging 3 82 foot drain field trenches, digging the hole for the septic tank installation, moving building material around the site, and I'm sure a lot of other things.

Afterwards, the tractor will be used for maintaining the gravel driveway, occasional snow removal, going into the woods to carry logs, etc.

I decided to go with a TC35 with a 16LA loader and a 757C backhoe and a 6' box blade. The TC35 seemed to give a good bit more capability for the price increase from the TC30 or TC33.

Do I need a checkup from the neckup? Anyway, the price quoted is 21,819 + tax. Does that seem like a good price?

Thanks,
Adam

Adam,
If the price you quoted of $21,819 includes the backhoe and box blade. I would say that you are getting an excellant deal.

I just recently paid $23K for my TC35D with FEL and a few minor accessories. No backhoe / no box blade

Unless I am missing something in the figures, it does. It will be a Ford A-Plan purchase. I am still struggling to justify it. I do want it though:) The dealer is trying to get me to buy the Bush Hog 765H backhoe instead of the NH 757C. Both will be subframe mounted using the tractor's hydraulics. Should I stick with the NH backhoe? The dealer says the Bush Hog is what JD and Kubota or selling with their tractors.

Thanks,
Adam

Adam, if the 758C isn't prohibitively more expensive I would seriously take a look at it. The time saved by not having to move the tractor as often because of the increased reach is valuable. I have a 758C on a NH 1920 and it is well suited to the size of the tractor. That sounds lake an awesome price. Hope this helps, Bill C

You need a checkup if you don't buy real soon. That looks like a great price to me. I would also agree with Billfires on getting the largest backhoe.

If your dealer is interested in a second sale at that price, I'd be interested in talking to him if he can get it to Missouri.

Adam,

I am in Virginia as well, just south of Richmond. I have been looking for a good price on a 25 to 35 HP Boomer. What dealer did you go through for yours? I've heard some good things about the one in Crewe, but haven't been down there yet.

If you don't feel comfortable replying with the dealer info here you can always send me a private message.

I guess everything comes with a hitch/glitch. The cost I was quoted was dealer cost less 6%. Turns out that the dealer is supposed to get the 6%, not the buyer, so my price goes up by 6%, but he is going to give me the 1% rebate. In a nut shell, I'll be paying $1100 more for the tractor, plus the upgrade costs for the 758 backhoe, plus a 6' rear finish mower. I also, have to put the financing in my mothers name since she is the Ford employee. Does $22919 + tax sound like a good price for a TC35 with 16LA loader, 6' box blade, and a 757 backhoe? (I still need to get the cost upgrade for the 758 as well as the cost for the rear finish mower).

I would like both a rear finish mower and a rear rough cutter (bush hog as I know it). Can't afford both. Was thinking that If I use the bucket to take down the bigger stuff (1"+), I could use the finish mower instead. I'll also use it to make trails in the woods as well as mow the grass. Thought?

Thanks for all the insight. BTW, this same dealer quoted me $17,200 for the TC35 with a 16LA loader on the phone before I even went in to the dealership. This price would be $16725 for the same. That doesn't seem to be as much of a discount anymore to me.

Considering that ANY BRAND backhoe in a size suitable for a TC35 has got to be atleast $5,000 I have to say that I still think it is an excellant price.
