Front-End Loader Price Check - FEL 6' Bucket Extension

Hey all, I'm a new member. I bought a JD 4310 last summer and the bucket that came with it is inconveniently wide for what I need it for. I'm looking to trade down from the 6' bucket to a 5' bucket and I'm trying to figure out the price difference to ask for in the trade. The catch is that my 6' bucket comes with a bolt on extension that extends the bucket out 24" further. I use my tractor to manage my woods, I really have no use for this thing but I don't want to just give it away either. I can see how it would be very useful to someone moving light loads frequently.

Has anyone ever seen these sold or is it a completely custom job? Any ideas on the value? It's definitely well built and heavy.

Any input is appreciated.

I would start out at 75% of a new bucket and throw in the extension as part of the deal.

If I read that right, you are thinking of going to your dealer to trade down for a smaller bucket. You can do that but the dealer probably won't give you any cash back. It probably will be the opposite with you giving him more money or him calling it an even swap.

You could sell it privately or keep it for some future use.

I would start at the dealer and see what numbers he wants for a trade. Given that yours is used and his is new and he is in the business to make money, if he offered an even trade, I would take it.

It would give you a starting point. Then you can list it on craigslist.
