Price check for 1736

I stopped by one of the Massey dealers over the weekend to look at the 1736. On paper, I am pretty interested in it. They quoted me $25K with 3.9% financing or 28K with the 0%. The tractor has the power shuttle, the loader, no midpoint and no remotes.

I expected it to be less than that.

Does this see in the ballpark?

That sounds in the ballpark. I paid $26k with the 3.9% here in central Texas. The dealer had to go all the way to Florida to get my hydro 1736 which is similarly equipped. I wanted a tractor with a good fit and finish and in my opinion it was either a John Deere or Massey Ferguson. John Deere didn't have any new models available so it was an easy choice with the Massey.

FWIW you can get a 28% discount on Massey gear over 5K if you own a horse under their equine program. That's pretty good discount if you happen to have a horse.. and qualify. Not sure of the details exactly but it's easily googled. I ended up with the tractor loader and backhoe for under 28K. That's for the premium model as I just can't find the love for plastic fenders I got a better deal on financing through my local Fed Credit Union @3.2%.
As for the tractor itself I really like it. Hydraulics are almost too fast to the point you have to just use fingertip control on the bucket. Works great once you get it down. Not being an automatic tranny fan I got it with the shuttle which works good. It was a tad hard to change ranges but things are loosening up now that I have 40 hours on it. I got mine with the ag tires because we have a lot of mud to deal with. The only real issue I have had is a tiny pinhole leak on one of the short hydraulic hoses that I just discovered today.
