I'm getting ready to pony up for a Max28. The local dealer gave me a quote for around $16,900 for the tractor/loader, 3 pt quick attach, 5 foot box blade and 5 foot landscape rake. This is the financed priced, planning doing either 72 or 84 months. Sound good?

That is a good price. I paid 18500 for basically the same package 3 months ago. I did the 84 months.

Don't forget about your sales tax. That's usually never in their quoted price but will get rolled into the loan.
Also you are required to have insurance on the whole package, you can buy your own or just go with the Mahindra $1400 insurance which is rolled into the loan as well and covers it for the life of the loan. It is loss insurance only, ie tornado destroys it, it it burns up, stolen etc. and protects the Mahindra creditor, not you. Homeowners does not cover it, but you can have it added and it may be cheaper to go with your own insurance.

Everything came out around $21500 out the door, zero down, zero%, 84 months, delivered.

It all sounds good. Unless, you are planning on using the 5 foot rake on a road. If such is the case, go with a 7 foot rake. The smaller rake when set on an angle will not cover your tire tracks, will not bring materials on the side of the road to the surface, unless you drive with a tire in the ditch.

With tax it will end up around $18,100 out the door, delivered. I didn't think it sounded too bad all things considered. I plan on going with the 3.99% finance rate as it has a lower sale price, and will double down on the principal when I can. Payment comes out to around $215 a month, before tax.

That is a good point on the landscape rake, I'm filling in an old pool hole in my yard and planned on using the landscape rake to pull rocks out of the fill prior to topsoil and planting grass. I imagine I will need some angle to try to push the rocks into rows for easier removal.

Last month before I got my 3016, I was looking at the 28. I got a price of 21,500 with fel and bh.

Last May (3rd) I purchased my Max 28 HST - FEL, BH, 5' BB and 5' Brush Cutter for 22,750. Since I purchased two qualifying implements (BB & Brush Cutter) at time of purchase I qualified for Mahindras cash back deal... I just received the $500 cash back check.

Well I will share as well, got mine last year. It is a 28 shuttle, wife said get what you need. I got fel/bh/bb/finish mower/car trailer. I think the price was around 25,000. Then financed for the long haul 0% deal. I was looking for car trailer already and thought; why not get it all in one fail swoop. I wish I had got a tiller too!! We made the purchase with the thought in mind that it will more than pay for itself but will take several years to reclaim the purchase. We both have no regrets.. Good luck!

I bought the tractor last week, had it delivered last Friday and moved 24 tons of dirt with it Friday night. Love the tractor.

The implements however I am extremely disappointed with. Only the landscape rake came with the tractor when it was delivered, the box blade wasn't in yet. After a closer look it has welds that missed the joint, the paint is rattle can, paint runs everywhere, and every single sticker is on crooked. Now, will good paint and straight stickers make it work any better? Of course not, but it speaks volumes about the quality of manufacturing. Basically Kodiak (who builds the implements for the smaller Mahindra's) doesn't give a hoot and figures who cares, just take it. The price on the landscape rake was around 550 if I recall.

The box blade came in a couple days ago, and it was equally unimpressive. Lousy welds, I couldn't even get the top link mounted because the spacer at the top of the three point hook-up wasn't wide enough for the top link, I had to loosen the bolt and spread it apart just to temporarily mount it to move it. Same rattle can paint with paint runs everywhere. The box itself is about 3/8" undersize in the overall width so the ends of the scraper blades are resting on the welds at either end and raised off the backer plate about 1/8". End plates are only 1/8" steel. The price on the box blade was $659.

Granted alot of the issues are superficial, but not being able to even mount the box blade out of the crate seems unacceptable to me and a clear lack of quality on the part of the manufacturer. I haven't had a chance to contact my dealer yet with my concerns but plan to do so early next week.

I guess what irks me is that I could have gone to TSC or Rural King, and paid less for the implements and gotten better quality. I foolishly assumed the Mahindra products would be superior, which they were not. The end plates on the Tarter box blade at TSC are 1/4", I could have mounted it right up without fooling with the 3 point mount, it's heavier, it comes with 5 ripper blades and is $60 dollars cheaper. Same thing with the box blade at Rural King, except it is $130 less.

Even with the rebate on the Mahindra implements, I just don't feel like I got my money's worth....

I got the 5 ft. rear blade and the quick hitch with my eMax 22 and find both of them to be very good quality. With the rebate it's like getting one of them free, so it was very worth it to me. I'm equally impressed with the tractor overall. Small issue with the hydro creeping but that's a small adjustment.
