Price Check Price check on 89 John Deere 1070

I'm considering purchasing a used 1989 John Deere 1070. Comes with Big Bee bushhog. Has 4WD. With 2500hrs. What would be a good current market price? Owner asking $9000. Doesn't sound bad but I've been told that with the current economy prices are down. Don't want to take advantage of someone down on their luck, but, don't want to get taken myself.

I see 5 in tractorhouse with 4WD prices are in the 13-16K range with various hours, options and attachments. This prices looks pretty good based on that.

Yes, I have looked at the 1070's offered on tractorhouse. They all are newer, have fewer hours, and have an attached loader. I don't know how to consider that the one that I am looking at has 2500hrs. From what I've seen online, that seems a little high. Is there anyone out there that has a 1070 or knows someone who has one? I've seen comments about the 770, 870, & 970 on here, but, nothing about the 1070.

I have a John Deere 1070 for sale, 4 wheel drive, canopy, and a 440 bucket, 783hrs on it. I am the orginal owner and have taken care of it rather well. Change the oils and filters every 6 months. It is a great tractor, mostly used it for mowing the grass and running the manuer spreader. I need to get a bigger tractor to bale with. This one has plenty of power to do the job, but on the hills here in KY it's like the tail wagging the dog. I would not be selling it if I was going to start baling, its a great tractor. Looking to get 13000 or best offer.
