I have been looking into the TC 40 DA and a Kubota L3830 both with FEL, quick detach HD bucket. I had pretty much settled on the Kubota. One of my dealers today called and has a 2004 TC 40 DA on rent to a farmer that is due to come in mid September. He states that they are using the tractor to pull tabacoo wagon. He is estimating it will have around 175 hours on the machine and any body blemishes will be taken care of along with any touch up painting required, also they would pull all the maintenance on the unit. The unit has only been out a couple of months and will carry the same original warranty and they will add the 16la loader quick detach and hd loader for $18,000.00. Does anyone have a feel for this pricing?

If all they are doing is pulling a wagon, then there should be no blemishes. 175 hours of pulling a wagon should be nothing but some good break-in time. I think $18K is a very good price - it's about what I paid for my 31hour/6month old TC40D/16LA almost 2 years ago BEFORE the quick attach, HD bucket, and toothbar.

So do you really believe a farmer had the 40DA with a 16la loader quick detach and hd loader and never used them, and how can it come with the same manufacturers warranty when it is a used unit with 175 hours on? The unit may be fine, but these questions would bother me.....

Are you sure the dealer didn't mean the existing warranty will just be transferred to you?

That sounds like a very good deal to me. It's especially good because your dealer is going to install a new loader. Any way you look at it, that's about $3,500-$4,000. That means the tractor is coming to you for about $14,000. No matter how you slice it, that's a great deal. How is your dealer on service? Does he also have a good reputation? I think you've found the deal you're looking for. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The dealer that I am working with has been real helpful. He sells both NH and Kubota's. Hasn't really tried to sway me one way or another. I was sort of leaning toward the Kubota until he mentioned the TC 40 DA. I had looked at the DA and the A. In fact I wanted a gear tractor due to some heavy pushing and pulling in the mountains. I didn't care for the A's cockpit so I moved over to the Kubota. I'm just hoping if I decide to go with the hydo that it will perform as well as a gear unit.

In my opinion, working on slopes and hills is where the hydro tranny shines. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif You almost never need to use the brake. If you can talk your dealer into letting you use the TC40DA for a weekend, I think you will agree. Since the tractor is already a used one, he might let you use it. That's the best way to decide.

I have been talking to my dealer again and he advises me that these were rental units. He has now also offered a TC 45 DA for $20K with new 16 LA loader with a quick detach HD bucket, bolt on tooth bar and loaded tires with approx. 80 hours. What woulld you expect to pay for a tractor like this in like new condition?

I recently purchased 2004 TC48DA with 18LA FEL and gave only 23,000 includeing tax and insurance. If i remember correctly my dealer was only 2,000 less for the new TC45DA and 16LA loader before tax and insurance.

I think the new price on a TC45DA would be around $23,000. The hydrostatic transmission makes it very near the same price as the TC48DA with a gear transmission. If I could get an 80 hr TC45DA with a brand new loader for $20,000, I'd think I was getting a very good price. If that's the tractor you want, I think you've found your deal.
