I realize that this an old thread, but I am curious if you got your Palmettos removed. If you did, how did you go about it? Also, if you don't mind sharing, what was the approximate cost?

Hi Tim, I did get my palmettos removed and it cost me about $50k. I bought a new Bobcat T590, a brush hog attachment that will go through 6" trees, and a hydraulic stump bucket.

I've got it pretty much down to a science now. I mow the greens off with the brush hog and go back with the stump bucket. Let the stumps dry out for a few weeks and they burn really good. I can clear an area 50'x50' in about an hour.

Hey rmack898, thanks for posting back. I have been curious about how this went since you started the thread. $50K Then I read on that you bought a skid and some cool implements. That grapple stump bucket looks like the berries! I may have to find one for myself.

Anyway, looks like you found a great solution!
