Price check please

Still looking for a tractor to cut 50+ hay acres. Stopped by the local Kioti dealer and he quoted me $19889 for a new DS 4110 hs which included a loader and 6 ft rotary cutter. The loader was a manufacturer incentive and no charge. Seemed like pretty good price.... though I'd just come from the JD dealer..:laughing:

Your thoughts?

well lets see..... 41 horse tractor with hydro shuttle, Independent electric/hydraulic PTO, 2761 lbs lift at the pivot pins on the loader, and a rotary cutter of some kind, all for less than 20 grand.? You could do a lot worse.

That does seem like a good price. I got my DK40se HST for $19,500 with FEL last summer as a point of reference.

Did you get the belly PTO with yours at that price? That option doesn't appear to be available in the DS. As well, the FEL incentive isn't available on the DK. Not sure what trouble one could get into with the shuttle trans on the DS.

You said to "cut 50+ hay acres" - IF you are talking about cutting and baling it with this tractor, I'm gonna suggest you check the mower and baler you are gonna use for their hp requirements. I run a Kubota M7040 (~68hp) to hay about 25 acres, and sure don't want anything any smaller. If you are just gonna bush-hog, that would do it.

Bush hog primarily but also hauling firewood through the wood, snow removal, box blade gravel drive...

No belly PTO that I'm aware of. I run all my PTO attachments from the 3-point. I really like the Hydro transmission. It cost a bit more, but it makes life so much easier in every application I've used it in so far.

The shuttle transmission on my 300hr DS4510 has performed faultlessly for 300hrs of brushogging. Very good value for your dollar.

I did some follow-up on this. The mid PTO apparently is available on the DK series but not on the DS. It's a $300 kit option. I was interested on the front mount snowblower which requires the mid-PTO. The loader incentive is available on the DK as well as the DS series.

There's been a fair number of complaints on this forum about what seems to me to be quality consistancy.

I have been following posts pretty regularly on this forum over the last 18 months and have seen only one isolated report of "quality inconsistency" for the DS models. It had to do with buckling of panels on a tractor in one dealer's yard. The fit, finish and quality of every Kioti tractor (all late models) I have inspected (maybe 20 or 30) has been consistently of a high standard.

Yeah...I saw that on the website ...but I asked the dealer anyway and he quoted $23k for the DK45se w/free loader. Maybe they have some latitude on the deals they make...?

I'm not familiar with tractors in general but I need one. I'm considering used but I'm not sure I'm a very good judge of what's good and what's not.

The one way I think I can sort out the manufacturer pecking order is to get plugged into these forums.

Oh man, I might have to go in and ask again! I also tried to decipher the website and got as far as the OP so emailed the local dealer. His reply was free loader on DS and not DK. I think there may be latitude or your guy may have DK stock from when that promotion was going on?

That might be it. The local Kioti dealer is Gary's Yamaha Sales and Service in Caribou, ME.

Free loader on DS and a bonus ($ off) on DK. Not as much as the value of the loader on the DS.
