Price For Used BX Snowblower ?

I was at my dealer today and he will have a used front snowblower for a BX in a few days. He not know the price he would charge, had to run it by the boss. He said is was only used a few times and looks new. The guy traded the BX in on a bigger tractor. The blower would include all the mounting stuff needed to fit the BX. Looking at past posts a new blower is said to be $2100, but it was not clear if this included the mounting stuff? What would be a fair price for a slightly used snowblower?

My guess would be that a fair price is whatever you can get it for. If he is willing to get you the intermediate drive shaft, quick mount, hydraulic lines, chute rotating handle mounting thing, as well as the blower , for under $2000 and if all of the equipment is in good condition I would go for it!

I was quoted just under $2400 last winter for the snow blower, the quick hitch mounting, and the PTO kit, all of which are needed to mount the snowblower to the tractor and have it work. I found a used one this past summer for $1000 and everyone wanted to know what type of gun I put to his head. This time of the year, there are no deals to be had on snowblowers, so I would take what I could and be thankful for it. I would say that if you are getting the complete set-up for a 20% discount, you are doing well. If the snowblower was mounted on a 1st generation BX, you will have to make a provision for the chute hand crank since the valve is different. I have yet to see how Kubota has redesigned this aspect of the blower. Keep in mind that the blower fits other Kubota tractors, so if you don't buy it someone else might. All that needs to be changed to fit other tractors is the quick mount and the PTO kit. Just make sure to purchase some extra shear bolts for both augers. One is special and the other is just a plain soft bolt. Check the blower to see which is which.

Well if I get this snowblower I will have a 2 year old 3 pt 54" Puma to sell. Guess we will see what he wants for it in a few days. I guess if I have to sell the Puma this would be a good time of the year to do so.

He also has a used soft side Curtis cab with heater he wants $1750 installed. Still thinking about that one. The rear and two side windows were just velcro on plastic sheets, and they were pealing off. I have my home made cab that maybe what I use if I buy the snowblower. Almost $4K is more then I want to spend on snow equipment.

He is way off base on the Curtis cab. It cost about $1750 new from Curtis and add $300 for the heater. The heater has been redesigned for the 2004-05 snow season, so that alone makes his worth less. I know someone that purchased one new from the dealer for $2000 two months ago. Installation is about 4 - 7 hours depending on how slow you work and how fast a learner you are. The cab manufacturers must think that the cabs are gold plated the way they price them..
