I am looking at a 2007 L4740 HST, 4WD, FEL, R4 tires with 800 hrs. Asking price is $15,000 firm. Is that a good price? What is the main difference between a 2007 and 2011 model? Thanks.
Not sure about differences between the 07 & 11 models, but if the tractor is in good condition, not a rental return, not stolen - that is a very good price. It won't be available long - but remember - condition is everything.
UPDATE: The owner says he bought it from someone else who said it had 800 hours but the console panel went out so he could not read the hour meter. He said Kubota said they had problems with this model control panel and he has installed a new panel. It now reads 3 hours. Is there any way to tell how many hours is really on this tractor?
Not a perfect method, but look at the pedals, the floorboard, the steering wheel, seat - how do they look? Have any of them been replaced or appear to have been? Then compare to a tractor (similiar) with known hours. Have the tractor checked out at a dealership by a Kubota mechanic if you have any doubts about it's history or condition. An inspection by a professional may not catch all issues, but it is cheap peace-of-mind.
theres no way of knowing the tractors true hours once the control panel burns out.but as said look at the seat the floorboards,an see if the paint wore off real bad.an if the seat is in rough shape, such as the padding being squshed down that your hitting bottom in the seat.
