Price new of a 5500 a few years ago..

Any ideas? I believe it is an '07. It one of those situations where: a) it's a basic tractor ..2WD, shifter ... b) almost too large for my needs ...but the price may be right.

Perhaps because it is not a HST and/or 4WD ..it was already made to fit a lower price point. Thanks.

Jim, I don't have any idea what the tractor was selling for at an earlier date but yesterday, Oct 23, 2010, I visited a large Mahindra dealer, about 50 miles south of where I live and a new 2010 Mahindra 5525, 2WD with loader was: $16,500. The 6525 with 65hp, 2WD with loader was $17,500. 5 year warranty.

This was the first time I'd seen a Mahindra in person and I was impressed with the product, the parent company, the dealer and the long history of the line worldwide.

In this global economy, no MFG of tractors can claim that most or if not all of a large part of their lines are foreign made. I wish we , in this country could bring back our pride and jobs by buying "American made" but I sure don't see this happening.

Mahindra's prices seem fantastic, especially since a loader and bucket alone can cost 5 to 7 thou plus installation.

I am seriously considering purchasing the 6525!

Thanks gentlemen. I'm still trying to get over my hangup that a HST and 4wd ... even with lesser power may actually be better for my modest needs.

But, I have to face the fact that, in my market, a 9yr old, 40hp JD costs 30% more .. and has 1,000hrs+ vs. 100. Tough to decide...
