Price of meat almost doubled here...do you folks have a meat processor nearby?

The frustrating part is, the ranchers are not getting the money. It is the packers.

Sam's Club ground chuck, family pack, 80/20 is $6.38/lb
pork chops almost $4.50/lb

I need to find a local processor/seller.

I am a bit concerned about being able to get my pigs processed this fall. I've already set the dates to have my poultry slaughtered, as they warned me they are filling up fast.

I got my first batch of chicks today, will be picking up pigs on Monday and turkeys on Thursday. Second batch of chicks the week after that.

I feel like I'm putting the horse before the carriage, setting up dates before even getting the livestock.

I always said that the best way to eat turnip is to feed it to the pigs, then eat the pigs.
It turns out that they don't care for it, either.

Meat has not gone up much, but most stores limit you to 2 packages at a time. Not bern an issue. If thay had done that to toilet paper there would not have been the mass hording. People suck.....
Or so my dog tells me. I just got ground beef at costco for $3.99 per pound....like a 9 pound package. That Costco doesnt like togo small. Waiting for 45# box of M&M. The 64 oz ones are too small
