From what I gather the New Holland TC33 is the same as the Case-IH DX33. Is there a big difference in price? I'm guessing the Case-IH is higher since they don't sell as many.

Also, apparently the Case-IH DX33 doesn't have the SuperSteer option. Any idea why since they are the same tractor as the TC33?

Danny,

I priced the DX33 last year, and it was about $2,100.00 higher than the TC33. When I asked what accounted for the difference, the dealer said..."It's a better tractor." Well, since I haven't gone back to that dealer since then, I guess I'll just have to take his word for that! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I can't say specifically, but it's probably like that Ford - Mazda SUV thing a few years back. I bought a Mazda Navajo (2 door Explorer type vehicle) back in '91. All the manuals were Ford, all the markings on the engine were Ford, and you couldn't get the same color on a Ford as you could on the Mazda. The only things that said Mazda on them were the steering wheel and the emblems on the outside of the vehicle.

Danny, it's like a Chevy truck versus GMC. Same company, same manufacturing plants just a different name to have product at more dealerships. Slightly different options to satisfy different markets I guess, this part I never really understood /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My dealer told me there is basically two things that was done to keep the two lines separated. One was super-steer and the other was pricing. New Holland dealers really got upset with the new line so they complained until they got the higher pricing and the super-steer option only available on blue. Now at the fair this year the red guys were selling for less than the blue guys. Go Figure.

From what I have been told the tractors are priced the same net wise. As always the price you pay depends on the dealer and what he wants to make.

When I bought my DX33, I had the same price from both dealers. I just liked the red color better. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here in my area of the country (s.w. mo) I got a dx-40 for a little more than a thousand dollars LESS than a tc-40. I was surprised! I couldn't see paying that much more for the same tractor except for the blue paint. Griz.

In this area the IH and NH dealer are one in the same. In general he has the best prices on NH I have seen. A few years ago I asked him stocking the red boomer and he said he had better pricing on blue. They have two dealerships with IH and carry the larger tractors in the IH so I assume he was correct.
