Price Check price on 72 inch frontier finish mower

I just bought a 72 inch frontier finish mower rear discharge from a auction,it is in very very good condition pto shaft included. I paid 938 dollars tax included. How did I do, I thought my john deere dealer wanted 2300 plus new. I also wanted to know what you guys felt on how my new 2520 will handle that size of mower.

I was quoted $1930 for the 72" Frontier unit. So I think you did pretty good! I can't speak for the 2520, but I'm sure others will. However, my dealer told me that the 2320 I ordered would handle the 72" no problem for regular lawn work, but I went with the 62"MMM instead.

I'm running a Frontier GM1072R on my 2520 with R4 tires. The mower is HEAVY (675 lbs) but does a beautiful job of cutting. My property has lots of hills and I find that the 2520 has a hard time getting enough traction to move the mower without spinning the tires, particularly when turning on a hill.

I do not have filled tires, but do have 120 lbs of weights on each rear wheel, as well as the loader frame. Still, I find that I need to run in 4WD all the time to keep from tearing up the grass.

On the plus side, the machine has plenty of power to run the mower and move it around. If you have relatively flat property, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, be prepared to deal with traction issues.
