Just received a price on a new NH TC 33D with hydrostatic, supersteer and R4 tires for $14,700. Price on auxillary eqpt is as follows
NH 7308 Loader with joystick control and 60 inch HD bucket $3,195
NH 914A 60 inch MMM $1,925
NH 914 72 inch MMM $2,400

Does this seem like a good price for this setup or should I check around. The NH dealer is only about 10 miles from me and has treated me well in the past. Also would I be better with the 60 or 72 inch MMM on this setup.

prairiegrass,

I think your pricing is pretty good. I paid just under $20,000.00 for my TC29D with the 7308 loader, 60" bucket and the 72" MMM.

As far as the difference between the 60" and the 72" is if you have level land or not. I had the 60" on my TC21D and I really liked it. Now with my TC29D and the 72" I found that I am doing some scalping and hi-cutting. But your tractor will more than handle the 72".

Hope this helps.

The price looks to be in the ballpark of what many of us have paid. I have the 60" MMM and it works fine, but it doesn't give you a lot of room for edge work. I picked the 60" so it would fit in my shed. Also, I noticed some scalping especially by the chute opening. I had my dealer weld a bar across the bottom of the chute. I've only mowed once this year, but it looks like it helps.

BigDave,

I think I will have that done. Most of my scalping comes from going up hill and then I change to a level spot. I try and lift the MMM up a bit when I hit that spot but I still get the scalping. That bar may just help.

Essentially, it seems that the 72 inch MMM would work best only if you mowed on level land. My ground is slightly rolling so I would probably be better off with the 60 inch except it wouldn't be as good for edge work.
