Hi,I was quoted 12,500 on a used 2003 tractor w\500 hrs on it. fel but no hst does this sound a little high or not? thanks. James.

As far as I know, all the D models were HST. That being the case, it's not a 29D you're looking at if it's a gear tractor.

Does the tractor have a swivel seat, another feature of the D model.

If I remember correctly (and keep in mind I have a good memory it is just short) the D only model was Hydro. The newer vesion DA is available as hydro or gear? Again I have no specs to prove this or anything it is just my memory.

If you don't need Hydrostat or the frills of the D series, you might want to look at the TC 30. In my market, you can buy a new tractor, with new warranty for $11,500. Larger than the TC29 displacement, 30 engine and 25.5 pto hp, w/ industrial tires, 4 wheel drive, power steering, 9 forward, by 3 reverse standard trans, but 2nd and rev are across from each other, making for a nice shuttle effect in each of the 3 ranges. Live PTO and live hydraulics. Open platform, comfort seat, non adjust ROPS. But a great price on a really nice tractor.

The brochure I have is from '03. It lists both Gear and HST.That is for the TC24D

I agree with alanwilk. In this area, the TC 30 is going for 12,100. Granted it is a no frills tractor, but it is more hp and is a very sturdy machine.

It was actually my second choice when I was buying just a month ago. I ended up with a Mahindra 3015. he ride was smoother and it had the new CUT style.

The TC 30 is of the old body style.

Just my opinion though
