I knwo nothing about tractors but want one mostly to make food plots for hunting deer. A neighbor has a Yanmar (1601d) Koyker -4 wheel drive diesel engine. It has a front end loader. and and tiller plow. Visually the tractor looks good and appears to be in good running condition. Tires are good. It has 811 hours .What would a good price be? Thanks

Hi beckylc.
Welcome to TBN (tractor by net).

I couldnt locate your Yanmar in the website, but maybe you could check to see about that model number. Anyways, perhaps you could check out this machinery website. Just go thru the screens for the Yanmar tractors until you find your model. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

The 1601D is a good number. Follow the link or you can do a search under Google to find out more information on it.

Attached is a link for it. Yanmar 1601D

Email to the people on this link and see what price they give you.

Oh and another thing you can do is go down to the Yanmar forum here on TBN and look at some of the post for that tractor to give you an idea of what type of problems it may have or types of repairs people had to do.

One way to get an idea of price is to go to Ebay, enter Yanmar, find your model number then do a search in the "completed items" section you'll find on the left hand side of the listings. You'll see what your model, or similar models have sold for recently. You can spend as much for a 1601D as you can some of the larger Yanmars. Keep in mind that parts can usually be found fairly easily for that model, but as in most grey market tractors, the prices will be higher. I suggest you really check out the grey markets before you buy. I had originally planned on buying a Yanmar in the range of 25-35 HP, but after talking with parts suppliers and looking/trying them out, I ended up going new Kioti with 3 year warranty. I still like the Yanmars, just didn't need the hassles. Also you can go to Yahoo Groups, search for Yanmar and look for the Yanmar tractor owner's group. TBNs and Yahoo's groups have a lot of good info. I think bottom line you should be able to buy a 1601D or similar for around $5500.00 based on my recent searching. Also, you may be able to find a larger Yanmar with loader for not much more as many people don't want the bigger ones, so the price is less. John
