I have been reading many of your posts for a while now as I am in the market for a tractor to replace my trusty Ford 600. I have narrowed my choices down to a DK40 w/FEL and shuttle vs a MF 1540. My local Kioti dealer gave me a price of $21,895 if I take the rebate in place of the 0% or $25,395 with the 0%. So, what are your opinions, are these good prices or does he have room to move down and if so to what?
Thanks in advance.

I ended up buying a 2007 used DK40se with HST 180 hours for 16K last month. Did ridiculous amount of price research and decided that $5K for 180 hours meant I could buy some implements and still stick to my 20K budget(risk=little warranty left) . Where you are located has an impact I'm in NH and I got a quote for 21,500K for new w/HST. You might consider a Bobcat too? If you do consider Bobcat consider Wallace Tractor, he gave me a great quote and has a sterling reputation!

Great machine though, I am trying to go out and use it, but I am too busy loading pairs of animals onto my ark.

Thanks for the feedback, I actually got a PM from Wallace and have been going back and forth a bit, he seems like a great person to work with.

As for the Ark, well, I am in Ohio, so I feel your pain. We are looking good today and tomorrow but rain returns Sunday and all of next week, so keep building.

Where in Ohio are you? I bought my DK45 HST off of Brownies Tractor Sales in Nelsonville, OH. Jeff is great to work with, beat the dealer south of me by $6K. Mine was a left over he had before the price increase 4/1/11.

FWIW, I'd choose the Kioti over the Bobcat. Close look at each shows that Bobcat supplies a cheap seat; one piece instead of a serious seat like on the Kioti DK series, for instance. And some things like rear remote which is standard on Kioti is an option on the Bob, as I understand it.
Bobcat has been described to me as a 'stripped down Kioti'.
They are similar machines in a lot of ways, but they are not apples to apples. One is of course free to choose which brand and what features and options are needed at which price point. I do seriously feel that dealers of whichever brand can do what they want with price on tractor and implements, etc., depending on their territory and the volume of sales and how motivated they are to sell a tractor and or gain a customer for a period of time.
