Hi all, as some of you know, up here in New Hampshire we don't enjoy the pricing that many of you have elsewhere in the country. I've been pricing out new X730's with 54" decks, auto connect and mulching kits and am around the 11k mark at several dealerships. I've also been offered a NEW, but 2011 X724 which will come with the same warranty as new, and the 60 months at 0%. The pricing offered on that is $9,700 and it also comes with a 54" deck. It seems to me that the age demands a higher discount even though it hasn't been used. I've read a lot of commentary that year doesn't mean much on tractors, but I also know that when vehicles of any type sit in a crate for years, damage/corrosion can occur. Also, I frankly don't like the look of the skinny back wheels/tires on the 724, I'd welcome all wheel steering with bigger wheels of the higher end all wheel 7 series but the cost will probably be to significant.

Any comments on the prices paid for your X730's and what I should pay for the 2011 X724 would be appreciated. I'm really excited to take the leap up to such a machine from my food stamp D140

Take a look at the "build your own" section or even "buy Online" for quick pricing on the johndeere.com site. There is a $400 discount on the X739 making the jump from X730 to X739 about $1,850 before any further dealer discounts. Once you have MSRP you can tell what kind of discounts the dealer is offering. Over 60 months the $1,850 is only about $30. Further options should be same price / same discount for the X7xx line. Without knowing the exact number and what all it includes around $11K does not sound like much of a discount.

Thanks Cinder, I know the msrp, and have figured out that I'm getting about 2% at best. I'm looking to get at least 10% on the brand new versions. My bigger question for everyone, is how much should the 2011 724 really go for, I don't want to overpay for a machine thats been sitting for 3 years, and at this price difference, id rather go new. But if I can get it for low enough, perhaps I would grab it.
