I am considering picking up a used 3x20 series tractor and have a few questions.

Should I be concerned about a 2006 3720 that is priced at least $4000+ below the competition at a pretty large dealership? The salesman tells me that the previous owner for no specific reason traded up for a new 3720 even though the older one only has about 100 hrs on it. I checked with John Deere and although the warranty has expired, there have been no warranty claims on either the tractor or the 300x loader. This deal is as good as or better than most of the used 3520's (even with remaining warranty) that I have priced so it is hard to turn down, but it also smells almost too good to be true.

What is a good price on 2006 3520 or 3720 with either a loader or mmm?

The dealer in question is out of state 6 or 7 hr drive from me so going back for service isn't an option. What do you think?

By the way, the salesman says supposedly there is hardly a scratch on the 3720 and the "****" aren't even worn off the tires yet.

I'd say that if its from a reputable dealer (not some craigslist scam, etc..) it could very well be the "deal of the century" for you...
Alot of factors go into pricing used machines...what he got it in for, how long he's been sitting on it, inventory levels, etc...
I've been shopping for Snowblowers and pretty much any attachment I cant pass up lately and pretty much every dealer I walk into I get the "Its a buyers market" feeling....

Cab or OS?

Less than 100 hours, just to be clear, is the cost the same as a 3520 with a warranty that you are looking at, and how much warranty is left on that unit? I would think that if I had a choice between a warranty (6 mos to 1 year), and not one, I might lean towards the warranty. However, the 3720 gonna have more power, and sofar they have been pretty dependable form what I have seen on this forum.

another comparison to consider is features on the uunits you are comparing. If the 3520s have more features and a warranty, that is another factor to consider.

FYI; I got a 2008 3520 and a hydraulic valve bit the dust and I had only 2 hours on the tractor, and only 20 minutes on the 3PT hitch:eek:! I just got it back from the shop:D. Everything else worked fine so I do think this is a fluke sofar:confused:.

No kidding that is how I got into the 3520, they wanted to deal and they got me. I was really uncommitted until the price started going down.

Also wanted to say...seems like around here anyways, you can get better deals on used machines from Dealers and not Private sales...most private sales are "I want XX dollars...anything less then that I'll just keep it" and the dealers like to keep the yards clean of used machines, or at least have freshly traded in stuff...any little interest in them and they're calling you up wanting to make a deal (currently happening to a friend of mine)....
