Priming oil pump?

I just purchased a remanufactured shibaura engine (N843L TC35). It says I need to prime the oil pump before starting the motor. I know you fill up the oil filter with oil but I'm positive there are other things I need to do. Can anyone walk me step by step what else I need to do.

Pull all the glow plugs so the engine rotates freely then crank it over a bit until you have oil pressure showing on a gauge, usually a 0-30 psi gauge you can put where the oil pressure switch is if it has one.
