a printer is a printer.
if you want 100 copies, use a copier.
doing your own color ink printing runs about $.27 a page.
Kinkos, Copy Max, etc... will do it for a lot less - especially once you figure out how much your paying in labor to print them out, wear and tear on your printer, etc...
ink is expensive on a per page basis.
laser toner is much less so - and there are some very nice color lasers out there under $500.
about 2-3 years ago I convinced my boss that buying 18 desktop laser printers was cheaper in the first year than continuing to buy ink for the ones in service at the time. (it helped that lexmark was having a buy 2 get one free special at the time, too)
the only other way i know of to speed up printing is to go into print properties and chang it to lower quality prints. (draft or quickprint mode)
