01 JUN 2007
Well, I have attached a few pics from a trip I took to Pristina, Kosovo (at the Airport) today to send the previous flight surgeon home (COL Lauridsen). While at the airport, met a German Doctor who has very cool military ambulance. Here are a few pics of me standing by it and reclining in it. I sat in the driver’s seat and all I can say is very nice. Great comfort and looks easy to drive. The front four sets of wheels move in unison.
On Saturday I will go on another MEDCAPS (I have no idea what this means), but it is like a MEDRETE (Medical readiness training exercise) where we go out and provide minor medical care to the locals. I will have Albanian and Serbian interpreters. Their languages are not at all similar, so both are needed. I cannot tell Serbs from Albanians, as they look identical. The disease they have are just like what we have (no surprise). Hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, skin problems, etc.
