Privacy fence going up

Make sure you know where the property line is located before putting up that fence. Especially given how worried you are that there will be problems with the neighbors.

Having my lines surveyed has stopped a septic system from being put on my land as well as a dog kennel.

Thanks for all the help guys. As for the 345 measure, I think that is what they did for my barn..........only they went corner to corner, front left to right rear. I think I understand that.

As for straight from the house, yeah that laser thing is great.......also good excuse for a new toy!

As for property lines, there is a post at the top of the place and one at the bottom.......no doubt there.

Hi Danny,

Sorry to hear you have to put a fence up, but a good fence is usally the secret too good neighbors. I used to build them with wood posts, but the last few that I did used metal poles. If you put the poles on the neighbors side, it's an attractive fence that won't rot on you. Of course, this might not be a concern, but at least something to consider.

Hey Danny,
The lazer is a great tool for every thing. I have an expensive one for horizontal level (has portible target for long distance) but my favorite one that I use is a cheap Ryobe from Home Depot $ 39 . This unit will shoot a straight dot or line built in vac-suction to attach to smooth surface or a wall bracket to lock it into. The 3-4-5 is good but if you have the room 8-9-10 will set you out a little longer for the long straight run.

Catman is right on. Starting a war by showing your resentment and hostility will not be a bennefit for you in the long run. My Mom always said acceptance, tolerance and forgivness will will make you and your life better. Have you been to see the older woman? Maybe she thought it was time for her to get into some assisted living. Staying in your home is cheeper than the high cost of assisted living. I wouldn't be so quick to judge. It's a very difficult decission to manage your parents lives when they are in their declining years. I don't think I would want to be the grouchy old geezer next door.

Sorry about that, Brain and fingers not working together. I would also try to get along. I had to put up a fence to keep our little punters in and I just don't like having to walk and mow around it.
