I bought a ramsplitter Woodsplitter a few years (3-4) back and I had them plumb a set of remotes on the splitter in case I ever wanted to incorporate a conveyor into my setup. And the time has come. Here is the problem. I had a couple hoses made up and attached them to the danfoss motor and installed the motor to my conveyor (converted 16' single chain hay elevator ) and plugged my couplings into the splitter. Added 1gal of hydraulic fluid and started her up only to have hardly anything happen. After 5-10 min the shaft would turn but with no power, I literally could stop it with 1 finger. The way the remotes were plumbed is there was a T installed on the pump and one side feeds the splitter and the other the remotes. The pump is 16gpm and not sure as it matters but the splitter uses the prince auto detent valve. Any Ideas as to what I did wrong? Lines possibly still air bound? maybe the motor is wasted? let er fly!!

There are several things wrong here.

Two valves in parallel.

Two stage pump pumping 4 GPM at 3000 psi, and that pressure is only achieved at max resistance, and in the current situation, most of the fluid is going through the log splitter valve to tank, so the motor can not build up pressure.

If you are using an open center hyd system, you can not tee into the pressure line as the fluid will find the least resistance to the tank. You have to add valves in series, and the first valve should have PB. The first valve up stream has priority.

You should not be using a two stage pump on a hyd motor.

Ok, So even if the splitter was splitting a tough piece of wood and achieved max resistance I wouldn't see enough flow (pressure) to the remotes to turn a small hydraulic motor? Whats the best way to plumb this so it will work? Any Ideas?

you need power beyond on a valve on the system. Or you can divide the flow with an adjustable "flow control" and run one branch to each circuit.

A simple T wont work as you now know.

I am not sure how it is plumbed now, but the fluid should flow through the log splitter valve and then through the remote or second valve in series.

Even if they were plumbed in series, if you are using the splitter, there would be no fluid available, as the splitter is using most or all of it.

You could split the input hyd supply and direct part of the fluid to the remote and the rest through the splitter.

You could also use a two position hyd valve to switch the fluid between the log splitter and the hyd motor, like this.

Surplus Center - 1/2" NPT 20 GPM PRINCE SELECTOR VALVE

For faster cycle time, you need max fluid through the splitter.

You should also use a motor spool valve for the hyd motor as it will give you variable speed and reverse.

This is an auto log splitter valve that when the levers are set, it will split and return automatically to neutral, and has a PB port for downstream pressure.

Guys You are a real asset having so much experience to share with us that are hungry but don't have the expertise. Thank You!! (I mean that) I have decided to go the the easy way and use this for this particular conveyor. Small Engine Warehouse: 93432-0192 - it will make it mobile and not dependent on the splitter for power and has a very low fuel consumption.
Agian Thank You
