Problem with lift on my 864

Hey everyone, I am looking for any suggestions on what might be wrong with my 864! 2 months ago we noticed the lift began to slow down on it so we figured it could be the hydraulic filter. Changed that and it didn't help. Now the lift is even slower to the point of unusable. All other functions are OK i.e. the tilt, drive, and running of attachments. Any help would be much appreciated! :thumbsup:

Have you checked pressure and flow ?

That I have not done JJ. Whats the best way to go about that? Pressure gauge coupled to a flat faced coupler connected into the aux. hyd? Or is there someplace else I should be checking? Thanks for the help JJ

Checking pressure at the front coupler will tell what main sytem pressure is. There are pipe plugs at each cylinder fitting that you can hook guage to to see what lift pressure is. Both pressures should be the same 2600 - 2800 psi.

If you connect the pressure gage into a tee at the cyl, it will test the pressure to raise the current load, and if you fully extend or retract the cyl, it will indicate the relief pressure.

You might be surprised at the pressure required to operate the lift and tilt cyl.

To lift an empty bucket, only requires less than 300 psi or less.

i would check the lift cylinders for internal leaks, that usually causes it to slow down, or your spool valve seals on the lift side of the control valve.
