For a while now I've had trouble with the bucket curl on my 32LA loader. The curl does not seem to have it's usual force and if I pick up a heavy load (couple of thousand pounds) that extends out a ways (like on forks or rock bucket), in very short order the bucket slowly (10's of seconds) dumps and cannot be recurled. The lift circuit seems to operate normally and can pick up about 4000 lbs.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Does the engine load up when you move the joystick side-to-side, or does the joystick movement not get any response from the hydraulic system? I'm not sure how your joystick operates on the 32LA, but if it is a manual valve that controls a shuttle valve spool, then the shuttle valve might have a defective seal that is leaking and also binding so the curl position cannot be maintained.

If you cannot curl the bucket after it droops, how do you restore it to it's previous position? Do you backdrag and then it starts working? Does removing the load (and also reducing the pressure) cause the bucket to curl normally?

The first think I would do is to swap the curl and lift circuit at the quick connects and see if the problem changes location to the lift arms. If it does not, I'd look at the curl cylinders. If it does change, I'd look at the joystick valving and seals.

Put a moderate load in the bucket, raise it to chest height or so and uncouple the bucket circuit hoses. Measure one exposed bucket cylinder rod or mark the rod at the gland with a sharpie pen. Observe whether the bucket uncurls or not. This identifies the leak in either the valve or a cylinder. If it is a valve, post back and we can talk about load checks, etc. It is probably a cylinder piston seal. Drop the loader to the ground to relieve the pressure on the couplers. You can either re-pack both cylinders, use a non-contact thermometer, or pull & cap hoses to identify the leaking cylinder. Post back if you need more detail on these methods.
