I bought a new 44 z force this year, and I'm starting to feel like it was a big mistake! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Its been back to my dealer 3 times for broken belts and bad pulleys. I mow a little over an acre, pretty flat too_Over 6 weeks time in the shop!! I asked for either a new mower, exchange for a different mower or refund and was denied. Customer service at Cub Cadet also can't seem to help. Anyone out there have any suggestions? I really thought I was doing the right thing By buying a Name brand mower. Any dealers have any suggestions. I am a new home owner with limited funds and It makes me ill to think I just boughta lemon. Thanks

I don't know what you mean by "bad" pulleys. What is the nature of the area you are mowing? Is there a lot of debris? Does the grass get quite tall before you mow? Is the grass wet when you mow?

Good luck,
Doc

You didn't buy a lemon, it's a piece of JUNK!!! I had one last year and it was in the shop too. The belts broke, then the transmission went out on one wheel. It would stop working after 45 minutes. I sold the JUNK this spring and lost $400 on it, but I'm sure glad I got rid of it. MTD=JUNK!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Well, first of all let me say that during the spring/summer months we sold on average 2 Z-Forces a week. Out of all those units I sold this season only 1 gave me problems. Much of the same problems you are describing. There are obviously units that have problems but so too do all different manufactures.

As for your situation with the Z-Force 44' Here is what I would do. Cub allows each independent dealer to have up to 3 "loaner" mowers available just for situations like this. I would make sure your dealer is aware of this. They should have at least one unti on their lot under this program. Tell them that while your Z is in the shop you want something to mow with. If they act like you don't know what your talking about contact Cub (in specific your area rep). Thats my advice...sounds like your dealer needs to take a few more steps in aiding you in this process.

Where is your Dealership at Gamble? If its within a hundred miles of Nashville you've just got a new customer. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Tell your dealer to call cub cadets tech guys and they can send him a kit to fix it with.
