Since I am considering the purchase of a TC40D, I would appreciate hearing from owners of TC35 through TC45's that have had warranty issues and also how supportive NH has been with those issues. I am also curious if it is possible to personally visit with the NH area rep whereas with JD, it is not possible to visit with the JD area rep. according to my dealer

Mike,

Several of us on this board have larger TC's. I have a TC35D. No problems to speak of. There have been some complaints about loud driveshafts that scheduled lubing seems to clear up. There have also been minor issues with the tilt steering not locking in position all the time. I experienced this myself but it might have been related to cold weather (since then cleared up on its own). Also the TCs seem to run pretty cool in the winter, a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator seems to help. My dash fogs a little bit, but I think most tractors do this. It's not to the point where there are visible drops of water and I'm not sure it can be fixed anyway. That's all I've heard or experienced.

I have no comments on NH warrenty work 'cause I haven't needed any. I'm assuming they are pretty good. I have 100 hrs.

I have a TC45D & am really quite happy with the machine. The dealer did a lousy job prep'ing it for delivery, however, I did need a new thermostat installed under warranty & they were really good about sending a tech. out to do the repair right at my home. (He did a good job as I was actually able to watch him) After speaking to one of the owners of the dealership they also threw in my block heater & installation to try to make up for the poor pre-delivery prep' they did. I didn't pull any punches on my new owner survey from New Holland; & actually recieved a phone call from New Holland appologizing for the dealerships behavior & asking if there was anything they could do. They assured me that my experience was not typical & the dealership would be dealt with to keep it from happening to future customers. They also gave me an 800 number to call for customer service. So, I guess what I am trying to say is that even though my dealership may not have lived up to my expectations, the company does seem to be committed to good customer satisfaction. I am in the fortunate situation of living where I have two dealerships less than an hours drive away, so now I just do most my parts & accessory / toy shopping at the other dealership. I would most likely by another New Holland tomorrow if I had to do it over again. I think NH North America is pretty committed to promoting good customer relations & satifaction & will take care of any dealership problems you might have for you (as remote as the possibility is) The other dealership that I have been dealing with always treats me like gold & my only regret is that I never stopped there when looking to buy the tractor. (I just went for the largest local dealer with the assumption that they would have the most benifits to offer - guess it wasn't the best assumption) Buy a New Holland you'll be happy with the tractor.
They have some of the nice creature comforts the other manufacturers don't, like the easily adjustable 3pt. that telescopes for attaching implements, the neck saving rotating seat & the curved hood / loader design that actually lets you see what your doing.

I bought my TC40D about eight months ago. Not a lot of time on it yet but so far no major problems. One warranty call because the attachment point for the parking break broke off at the weld to the tractor. Dealer fixed quickly with no further problems.

I bought a new BOOMER TC40D some time ago-5 months- having put approximately 175 hours on it with no problems whatsoever. I work the tractor very hard on 40 acre agri-farm, using a 74in BUSHOG rotary cutter, 72in BUSHOG HD box blade with scarifiers, 74in BUSHOG rototiller, Heald 3pt seeder and 84in BUSHOG adjustable scraper. I am meticulous and timely regarding maintenance and perform it twice as often as required. I am SO GLAD I opted for the AUTOMATIC trans!!! I also suggest the block heater if you live in a cold winter area. Enjoy your NH Boomer! Sam /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mike,
I bought a TC-40D with SuperSteer about 7 months ago and have about 70 hours on it now. I haven't had any problems at all with it. I have 17 acres that used to be in row crop production that I am converting to horse pasture. Most of the hours have been bush hogging, discing and broadcast seeding. I also have the LA17 front end loader. It's amazing how easy it is to use. My only other tractor experience was 30 years ago on an old IH Farmall M on my Aunt's dairy farm. The local dealer has been great too.

Have a TC40D w/SS. Have about 120 hours total time and had one issue covered by warranty. A hydraulic hose on the front steering was snapped off due to a dumb move I made when working around (and over) fallen trees. Ended up straddling a very large log and in the process of getting the tractor off snapped the hose. Dealer replaced it free of charge.

Like someone else stated, I filled out a new owner survey and NH responded with a phone call about a week later. They were very responsive and offered to do whatever it took to keep me a happy customer. Even though they are a very large company they seem to care about their customers.

If I had to do it all over again I would still buy the same machine.
