I have excuses. I think that's a necessary part of the art. For instance, the last two weeks have been largely taken up by my quest to find a reasonable replacement for the Dodge Caravan that was totaled when a sweet young thing thought the stop sign she was approaching was just a cute suggestion. So....I only yesterday got around to starting to clean out the garden. And, also, it should be noted that there are still turnips in the garden, so I really can't till it all under anyway. I took down the cattle panels and pulled up most of the t-posts, and then had to go on what turned out to be the final part of the car quest. Today, I should be out there finishing up the garden. It's about 40 degrees right now, but there's a light mist which is scheduled to change to sleet and then to snow, as the temperature drops about 20 degrees...gotta love being next to the plains. I really should be out there getting some stuff done before it gets bad. I should. But, first, I have to write this and drink my coffee. Not very good coffee. I should get some from Boondox, or maybe the local coffee roaster. I'll have to think about that a bit. Wonder if it's sleeting yet.

Procastination is an art form that I excell at. I have been thinking about, but just have not got around to, getting sponsorship for a new Olympic event that I hope to get started, Couch Potatoing. I think this has distinct possibilities for the "average man" with spinoffs for product development that could relate to tractors. Imagine a Lazyboy seat for tractors with a fender mounted fridge in your air conditioned cab. Gives me shivers thinking about it.
Good luck on your car quest, I am glad you were not injured and have maintained your sense of humor about the ordeal.

There was/is a Procrastinater's Club, I think based in Philadelphia, that makes the news every once in a while when they send out their annual report - several years late. To me, they are not true procrastinaters. I've known about them for years, have alway intended to join, and have never gotten around to it.

My wife, on the other hand, is a charter member of the Doitnow Society. She has a supply of these ready to hand out to me at every opportunity:

It is, of course, for those whose Sunday brains, like mine, are in "relax" mode, a round tuit.

I forgot to mention the tractor-relatedness of my procrastination! I was planning to use the carry-all on the tractor to move the fence parts and tomato cages to the barn. Now for the disappointing news....I actually went out and did it. Of course it wasn't all that easy. The tractor battery was on the charger in the shed, so I decided to see i f the battery in my wrecked van, which is waiting to be towed off by the insurance comapny, might be better than the tractor battery. It wasn't. Put back the tractor battery and finally got the old L-210 started. I thnk I need to clean some contacts in the starter; I've cleaned all the external contacts and replaced a battery cable. Anyway, I got it going and did the work I was putting off, so I guess I'm not going to make your Olympic team.

The accident, like all accidents, was a pain, but no one was injured, so it was just money and aggrivation. Got a decent deal on an '03 Impala....not my ideal car, but we needed something quickly, and it will do for a while. At least it's supposed to get fairly good mileage. We shall see.

I am still putting off getting the patio furniture in. It's kinda wet, and if I put it in the basement mold might grow. YES! That's the ticket! I think I can slide that one by she who must be obeyed!

Well, we will put you on double secret probation (we will not actually write anything down, too much work). Six weeks ought to do it, just dodge those "honey do" lists.
It was absolute genius, the thoughts of the mold on the patio furniture. You have probably saved your families lives and your home from that quick thinking! Sounds like after you get off double secret probation you might be a dedicated team leader on the Olympic Couch Potato team. I think the team name should be "the Spuds". A possible team cheer could be, Go Spuds drink those Buds!
Tractoring also needs to have an Olympic event, but that opens a whole new thread.

Please note that even thinking about chores I should have been doing got me put on probation in the local Procrastinators Club. Thinking about chores that need doing could lead to guilt which, given enough time, could turn into action. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Boy that's the truth. And women can sense it if you think about them too. My boss didn't buy the wet patio furniture growing mold excuse either. So what if it's all metal and hard plastic. It can still grow mold! We'll get to see, because I was "convinced" to go ahead and move it to the basement. I tried hard not to think about anything the rest of the day. I guess that probably counts as work too. And I thought I was a pro at this.

My wife gave me a round tuit, but it was blue. Then I had a heart attack, and combined with the onset of arthritis, I've managed to get over the shock. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
