I understand that many here probably aren't interested in this kind of music, but if you are, you really need to try the following groups. Fair warning, if you don't like Rock of any kind, you won't like these. It's a form of instrumental heavy metal that's mixed with Prog Rock and advanced technology, often with orchestral or symphonic elements. I stumbled onto them almost completely by accident by trying a few sampler albums. I used to think there was no good music cut after about 1990, but these have become some of my new favorites. They're really hard for me to describe, but very easy for me to listen to. Some of it almost is 'too good' if that makes any sense. It's an acquired taste and if they don't grab you on the first play, they might later.
