We have a projection TV that has water lines that are not on the outside of the screen. I can take the back off without moving any parts, does anyone have experience cleaning the inside of the screen or the projection lenses? I am not sure wich one has the marks on it, you can only see them when the screen is white. We had the TV in the basement and it flooded about 2", I think that is where the moisture came from.

Thanx, PTRich

I don't know about the screen. I heard that they are pretty fragile. You might want to contact the manufacturer for that. For the lens, I'd use photographic lens cleaner and lens cloth. They are very gentle and made to clean lenses. Hope this helps.

I took the back off my TV yestarday. I cleaned the 3 projectors with a coffee filter and warm water. They had very little dust on them but the blue lens had gouges in it. I cleaned that one realy good. The lines are very hard to see now, if I did'nt tell you they where there you would'nt notice them. I had to refocus the lens when I was done. Turn the tv on start the convergence. set it on blue and reach into the tv with the back on but partialy pulled back and rotate the lense till focused correctly. I called Tweeter where I bought my TV and they said they could get me a new lense no problem.

Glad it worked out for you. Who came up with the coffee filter idea? Photo lens cleaning cloths are pretty cheap and have quality control for that kind of stuff /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif. How did the lens get gouges? Or was it a factory defect that you never noticed until the moisture problem?

I met someone who had to clean lexan windows and used coffee filters because they where tough and did not scratch. I do not think it is an origional defect, it actualy looks like a mouse chewed it as wierd as it seems.
